The Woman Behind the Work
My Artistic Journy
From the moment I sat at a desk, my brain was lost to my imagination. When the doddles on the edges of my homework became too much for my teachers to bear, I was introduced to Mr. Miller's cartooning class at Fuerte Elementary School.
My passion for creation grew and I transitioned to Art with Larisse to build basic color skills through pastel, watercolor, and oil painting.
Fast forward past many hours at my bedroom desk hard at work. at 12 years old I won first place in my age category for a national endangered species art contest. It was safe to say animals would become my subject of choice.
After painting a jungle full of animals in my childhood bathroom, my mural business came to life. This is when I saw real protentional in my artwork as a job.
Once I got to California State University Chico, I thought I wanted to be an art teacher. I switched focus and graduated with a degree in Computer Animation and Game Development. In this department I had the opportunity to combine the artwork I was familiar making, with the beloved animated films and games I grew up with. While I still have my love for 3D animation, I took the path of digital painting.
In 2020, the pandemic hit our world with devastating force, putting me out of my job. parallel to that, I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease. Treatment became expensive, but working became unsafe and physically draining. By December, I was starting to sell my digital artwork online full time and my health was improving. Once 2021 came around, I registered as a professional business.
While I start my new journey looking for a company position where I can carry out my love for creation, I also get to bring people joy through my digital and physical products.
When I am not sprinkling the world with my vibrant work, I have a list of other hobbies. To no surprise I surround myself with animals. I own, ride, and train horses. I also like to dabble in archery, play video games, ballroom dance, fence, and geek out about theme parks.
Thank you for getting to know me and take part in my artistic excursion.
